After switching to a new host, I had difficultly restoring my phpBB2 MySQL backup. Having encountered many failed attempts. I gave up promising to try and do a manual restoration. I haven’t to this day done this. Although I was working on a Media Launcher guide some time ago. I tried to restore the backup again but this time reading the errors carefully and attempted to work around them. Most of the errors dealt with words that were searched for in my forums, which isn’t that important. After getting a restoration successful sign, I knew there was hope. I started late around 4AM this morning trying to get my old forums working and now I must say it is back in working order. There may be a few problems. If so, please report them in this post via comments. I will try my best to solve these issues.
Thanks especially to Dave J who posted in my Switching to Ubuntu post. I probably wouldn’t have even tried again if it wasn’t for his inquiry. I hope my forums will help you with the FFMPEG issue you are experiencing.
UPDATE: Only FFMPEG Guide is fully viewable with links working. Everything else will be fully viewable soon. I just need to place the files on my web server.
I’ve posted my first written reaction to Ubuntu Feisty Fawn 64-bit in the sidebar on the right. Check it out and post your comments here.
To sum up, I’ve switched most of my operations to Linux. I’m even starting to use GIMP Image Editing program over Macromedia Fireworks. There are a few things I must research still such as Remote Desktop for Linux that can compare to the one offered by Microsoft or better. Once that is setup, I will no longer needed to boot my computer into Windows. Check out the article below …
